  1. Default Need advice on buying new aquarium

I'm looking for a new regular sized 125 gal aquarium (72" x 18" x 24" tall) and since all aquariums look about the same to me I thought I'd write in to ask what I should be looking for design feature wise in this new aquarium. Which brands should I look for and which ones should I specifically avoid? What design features should I look for? I want a well built aquarium, but at the same time I'd like to do it as cheaply as possible.

Cheap as possible, I'd say look towards used. I'd advice you to look for something that comes with a hood and some decent lights.

If you are going to buy new, look for a good brand name like Aqueon or Marineland

As stated above, you can usually find great deals on a used tank that is in just as good of shape as new. Depending on were you live, it can take a little time to find these deals tho. The below link can help you figure out what to look for if you have not bought a used tank before
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.
