Thread: Newbie here!

Hey guys, just bought a 10 gallon freshwater aquarium. It's my first one ever! I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to sign up for a forum for information or problems (should I run into any.) Hope I've found the right place.
I've had my tank for just about 2 weeks now and the fish are doing fine.
- 1 glass catfish
- 2 Rasboras
- 2 Glo-Fish
I guess it's considered a Tropical aquarium? Again, I'm pretty new to all this!
Hope to see you all around!

Welcome to the forum.
Sadly, you're in a bit of trouble all ready. Rasboras need a school - 6 min and 8 is better. A catfish is the last fish you should place in your tank as they stay near the bottom where the toxins are the worst while you are in the process of cycling your tank. Your tank is most likely too small for glow fish who also like schools.
Please go to the beginners section and read the free book. Also read up on cycling.
My best advise is to return all the fish and get credit then cycle your tank without fish, then you could get a small school of neon tetras and or a betta because your tank is simply too small to house many more fish.
Sorry I couldn't be more encouraging with your set up.
Until you decide what to do, you should be doing 50% water changes daily to insure you keep the toxins out of your tank.
If you have questions about anything I've said - please start a thread in the beginners section.

Nice tank! I'm not a big fan of Glass Catfish... They scare me! It is a tropical aquarium as well.
