    Default fish herpes?

so probably not herpes but seems viral in nature.

So my triple red cockatoo dwarf cichlid has been getting these black lumps at both sides of his mouth, just below where the upper jaw and low jaw meet, the hinge. They start to grow and get bigger, in a teardrop manner. Then eventually seem to fall off and after another few weeks they start to grow back.

Anyone know what this could be?

Sounds like it could be a parasite like Diplostomulum worms (commonly called black spot) perhaps?

Alternatively look at mouth fungus that is black instead of white for some reason as an option.

Those are the two I would google to compare with your fish symptoms and see if one of them match and then treat accordingly.
