Thanks! Works pretty good for me, especially in the shrimp tank. Nice gentle flow. And if you put the same amount of new water in the bucket that you took out of the tank you can start siphoning the water and go do something else and not have the tank overflowing...

I have a lot of buckets, I use red home depot buckets for clean new water, and use the other colored buckets for getting rid of waste water. This way I don't confuse them. Keeps me from introducing any buckets I've cleaned with chems from getting into the tanks.

Interesting idea with the chair on the table and bucket by the way. Used to do something like that before. These days I just hold a cup in the tank at the water level and pour water into it from a large jug, fills the tank up rather quickly.

I rinsed out an ice cream bucket. Twice with hot water. 4 times with cold water. And once with boiling water.
    Is this enough

I unfortunately use jugs as well. I use an old cheapo walmart gravel siphon to suck out the old water into a 10 gallon tub, empty it outside then use a 3 gallon tub and fill it up and empty it into the tank by hand, bucket after bucket. Luckily my fish tank room and my kitchen are right next to one another.
