Aquarium Size for Red Tailed Sharks
I was wondering what the minimum aquarium size for a Red Tailed Shark would be?
I have found sites saying: 15, 20, 30, or 55 gallon tanks.
I would much rather trust Aquatic Community than some random site so if anybody knows what these "sharks" really need, that would be great! :)

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.
A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

I have had one in a 29 gallon tank for some years (bought him small), and he did well but when I moved my stock to a 55 gallon (+1 to Scottishfish), all the fish really grew and coloured up including my RTS. The shark really grew and filled out. A 55 gallon is the way to go for sure.
p.s. with live plants and driftwood.Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..
Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

A 55 would be the very minimum size with a 75 + more like it. These fish are simply too active and too aggressive for anything smaller. If a site told you 15, 20, 30 would be fine, it must have been on Yahoo!
You can not have more than one, either.

So what your all saying is... to not use a 55 gallon?
jk. Thanks for the input, helpful as always!
(I will most likely go larger than 55 gal. if possible)
