I know its a Hybrid, but there is no Hybrid section on this site, so i put this here..

I bought him for 50 last week, he is about 6" long, 8 months old, he eats like a pig, and he glass bangs like a pro, attacks me everytime i put my hand in the tank, he is the coolest fish i have ever had, my wife and kids play with him all day lol

    Tell me what you think?

    They're ehhh... an acquired taste.

I do like the tank look, much nicer than I often see with fish like this. Are those pebbles stable enough?

I wouldn't say they were a acquired taste, more people like them than don't, everyone who comes to my house loves playing with him and thinks he's beautiful :P

What don't you like about him? cos hes a hybrid or because of the Kok?

The Pebbles are fine, they are not tacked very high and are wide at the bottom, may need a rescape when he hits 12" tho.

While I'll admit the fish is cool looking, I understand the acquired taste thing, to me its almost like having an oscar, some people love them... me I personally am not a fan of a 1 fish tank lol. Unless you gave me a 200-300 gallon tank with a bunch of them I'll stick with my small guys :)

I hate Oscars, i think they are ugly and extremely messy.

Watch my 2 videos, this is why people love them, you don't see a Cherry Barb doing this :)

Yea, I am no fan of oscars, but I love my dwarf cichlids. Watching them interact is great, two of my males had a standoff over a female last night, and I just sat there watching. The female didn't hesitate to go the "winner" after the other one swam away. Certain fish just have good temperaments.

    .
    You asked.

I think the colour is very fake and artificial. I think that bulb on his skull looks hideous. The combination looks alien to me, something from a Dr. Who episode. I really don't like aggressive fish and I'd never go for a single fish setup.

It does look healthy and well cared for.

However, the flowerhorn can and most likely will be very messy itself. Make sure you are doing regular water changes on that tank

Easy mate, why are posting in the Cichlid section then? the colour is not artificial, this is not a dyed fish, its a work of art developed by people in Thailand.
