I'm going to keep trying the squash they fed him at the pet shop I tried everything and he ignored it. I don't think he is unhealthy I just think hes been getting enough food from algae but that won't last forever.

Has anyone else had issues with baby plecos like this before? algae tabs get swarmed by my corys so they aren't much of an option assuming he'd even take them.
Long time fish keeper most experience with CA/SA cichlids, natives like sunfish, and aggressive catfish.
Currently have a 29g planted with 14 candy cane tetras, 6 sterbai corys, 6 melini corys, a rescued Siamese fighting fish and 1 mustache wearing albino longfin pleco.

Yes. It's quite common in the first week or so.

Have you tried splitting a clove of garlic and rubbing that over the veg a few times?

No I haven't tried garlic; what is the idea a strong smell to lure him to it? It's been what almost 2 months and he won't touch any veggies still. Though I started to drop a broken up algae wafer in there at night so perhaps that's all the food he needs? I still haven't seen him actually eat anything. Though he has grown to be the biggest fish I have and seems to be in good health; all day he goes from plant to plant to my tank sides to driftwood cleaning it and he's probably grown almost an inch.

What throws me off is I have never had a normal or BN pleco that refused zucchini or cucumbers but they were all larger than this guy.
