Congratulations! I expect a full tank shot of your tank with fish.
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Update for the bored: still in the process of stocking the tank. Last weekend we picked up 3 guppies and 5 neon tetras to start. Last night I went out again wanting to buy more neons and a drawf gourami, but the store was out of neons (who runs out of neon tetras?) so we just got the gourami.

Was chatting with the guy at the store and told him my plan for the tank (3 guppies, 9 neons, 7 bloodfin tetras, and a dwarf gourami in a 29G) and he suggested adding a small Aggassiz cory cat, just for interest, and he reassured me that they don't add too much bioload and anyway I don't think I'm too close to overstocked with this plan. So we got the gourami and the cory cat last night.

I still need the rest of my neons. I'm starting to feel sorta bad for the 5 I've got in there, cause they don't have many friends. Well, in a few days I guess, to give the bacteria a chance to catch up to the 2 new fish.

I am guessing that he absolutely failed to mention that corys are VERY social fish and prefer to have 5 or 6 of their conspecific species buddies with them for low stress hanging out.
If you feel bad for the neons, Just imagine how your poor lonely old solo cory feels.

    A bit about Aggassizi corys ---> http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/...species_id=309
    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.

Actually I asked him that specifically, cause I'd read that they do like to have friends, and he assured me in no uncertain terms that they are ok by themselves or in groups as small as 2 or 3. Dammit. This kinda throws off my plan to have a small school of bloodfins, doesn't it.

No, it should still be fine in a 29g, just remember to stock slowly.

OK, I know the "1 inch of fish per gallon" is a sketchy rule at best, but:
    9 neons = 9 inches
    3 guppies = 6 inches
    1 dwarf gourami = 3 inches
    7 bloodfin tetras = 14 inches
    3 cory cats = 9 inches
Total 41 inches! Isn't that a little high?

Depends on your filter. Add another filter and your good to go with that stocking list.
Besides, two filters always come in handy when your running a tank. Just make sure each one is rated to take your tank volume.
Then all you have to do is get those water changes done on time.

I've always had a HOB and a cannister filter rated for the tank or above and loved the results. Damn that 1 inch equals 1 gallon rule.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

My filter is the Penguin 200 - claims to be rated to 50G. So it's almost big enough. :)

I have an AC 50 on a 29g and had 22 celestial pearl danios and 19 kuhli loaches, never an issue with water quality. You will be fine.
