    Default Red worm???

There's a long, red, something sticking out of my Golden Ram. This is a worm right?

I'm treating with Prazi and Melafix. Will that take care of it?

Look up calamus worms. I think Metro is better for calamus worms than PraziPro, but I could be wrong.
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

This description can also fit poo in some cases but I assume mandy would be able to distinguish poo from a worm.

It definitely doesn't look like poopy. Not to mention that I haven't seen her eat for the entire five days she's been in qt.

Sounds like the calamus but I would hold off on the Melafix. It isn't doing anything for him anyway. Did you remove the charcoal, if you use it?

This is a camallanus worm. The only medication I have found to be effective against the new stronger camallanus worm of the day is levamisole. Nothing else is effective. The worm attaches to the interior gut of the fish and is eating blood. Rather quickly the fish weakens and gets a secondary bacterial infection which causes the intestines to be consumed by a bacterial infection. These other meds appear to resolve the issue only because they contain the secondary infections. This is not an easy thing to kill. I recommend using angels plus wormer flake number 3 and not much else to avoid a reaction upon the entire tank for a 10 day period, gravel vac extensively and repeat the process in one month as the larvae from these worms develop. If the fish is not eating QT that fish and do a comprehensive treatment of water borne levamisole application. There are many ways to administer the levamisole, search the web for the way you would like to use. once the fish bloats it is as good as gone. Hurry.

No charcoal, and she's already been in qt for five days. Any other meds will have to wait till friday. Will my current treatment help till then?
