    Default Dark patches on L200

    There were dark patches on the head and fins on my new L200 yesterday, why is this, they have now cleared up and his color came back. I doubt water quality was an issue as I have been doing 50%-60% water changes twice a week for the last two weeks, normally I do one 50% water change a week. I had just got him the day before and he looked fine, then the next day washed out color and dark patches, then today sold bright green. Does anyone know what these are?

    They were most likely stress markings. Most plecos do this. He is in a new environment and it does take time getting acclimated to your water chemistry and the general surroundings. Also what tank mates does he have?
    My therapist says I need a bigger tank . . . . .

    Tank mates are 3 baby firemouth cichlids who don't even seem to realize the L200 exists and 10 black skirt tetras who also couldn't care less about the L200.

    from time to time I noticed my plecs would 'shed' their slimecoat. blotches, then washed out color, then perfect again. I wouldn't worry about it unless the plec is acting strange.

    No the L200 has not been acting weird as far as I know(though I just got it). It has been pretty much sitting on the drift wood occasionally moving to other areas.

    Fish like this are sensitive to changes in ph, temp and even air pressure. IF it's there one day, gone the next then it's probably stress.
