I recently started using it as well and I like it.

I've had it in a few of my tanks for a long while now. It works well and no issues with it. There was some debate about if it was safe for fish that like to root around in the substrate, but turns out to be safe enough, not that sharp. Over on plantedtank there are many threads about this stuff. The black diamond blasting media I bought for $9, for a 50 pound bag. There are a few different grits of it, the 30-60grit version seems to work well. I just dumped some into a bare tank and it settled out in a day or so. Whenever I put substrate into a new tank, I stick an old hob filter into the tank and fill it with pillow stuffing. The pillow stuffing will catch all the small particles in the water and clear it out fairly quick.

I bought a bag and maybe one more to go with the Eco-complete and other stuff that will be the base gravel.

Yes 30/60 is what it is.
