My filter is now built, seeded, installed and running leak free, will update more when time is available.

So sorryy for not being thorough with this journal, my free time has dwindled to near zero and my regular computer has gone keel up. When I have a chance I will add more pics. But, I finally plumbed in my 20 gallon overhead tank for my heaters, and it is working beautifully. I also just finished swapping my fish from the 55 gallon to the 150 gallon. Everyone seems thrilled to have some running room and the territorialism has diminished significantly almost immediately- so far. I'm sure it will pick up again as soon as they aren't stressed, until they figure out who is allowed where. I finally had the chance to see just how much tannins are in my water from the driftwood when the 20 gallon filled up, It seems my water is rather yellow. But it looks good and is a bit closer to natural river water - not completely "blackwater" but a bit stained. I am thrilled. I look forward to adding the live plants and some pics in the near future. Gaining momentum!

Glad to get an update from you longshot. I thought maybe you just "left us" like alot of people do.

No dice brotha! still here, just cramped for time lately. It's a good feeling to know that my absence was noticed. I like the folks, the info and the way the site is admined. I learn alot here and that is why I joined. I am pleased with how this build has progressed so far, so much farther to go yet. The live planting is going to be the challenging part for me, but I am so excited to get into it. I am bummed that Cabomba is on the "no go" list here in Ct. I wanted some of that in the worst way. Minor set back.

He is a red spot gold severum, sometimes he is bright orange and sometimes a light yellow, the lighting plays tricks with him, and my camera changes his color a bit too.
