Default Good gourami to keep with pearl gourami?

My tank is 55 gallons and since an angelfish didn't work with my pearl gourami, I moved the angel and decided I would get another gourami instead.
    These are my options:
    Moonlight Gourami
    Opaline Gourami

Or if neither will work would another pearl be fine?

Getting another gourami may be a bad idea. I tried that before doing any research and found out that most gourami's are very aggressive. I know honey gourami's are pretty peaceful. Regardles of the different types you will be rolling the dice with two of them.

Pearl gouramis are group oriented fish, in my experience. In a 55 I would keep 3 or 4, one of which being a male.

+1 to rodm81; you never know about Gouramis. The Moonlight is supposed to be peaceful but the Opaline is still the three spot as a color-morph and one of the most aggresive.

You would be wiser to follow jaysee's advice and try the group of three or four Pearls.

The only two "peaceful" gourami species I know of that can potentially be kept in multiples in a single tank are honey and pearl gouramis. Since the pearl grows to more than double the length and many times the size of the honey gourami, I would just stick with pearls. For a 55 gallon you might be able to do one male and 2 females, or a pair.

Ok, sounds great. Ill get a pair, but I don't want them to breed, since babies will probably get eaten.
Do they need certain conditions or can they breed in a community tank?

@madagascar: I have 2 chocolate gouramis and they aren't at all aggressive. I was reccomended to get 4, but I decided to get 2 more on my next visit.

I'm just going to ask for a female pearl gourami since there shouldn't be aggression either way.
