    I thread fishing line thru the cucumber or squash, tie it off and then tie it to a 'sinker weight' (used for fishing, yes I do that). Usually all that's left is the line and sinker. Just tie it close enough that they can't get tangled

    That's a good idea - very clean-looking too I imagine.

    And the weight isn't lead or anything? I'm thinking of water poisoning.

    To feed veggies to my otos and such I have an all plastic suction cup hook. Its clear, so doesn't look horrible, and I can put it anywhere on the glass. I have also seen people use the plant weights, just save 2 or 3 of them and poke through the veggie. Should sink it

    Threading fishing line.. perhaps it's old age getting to me but I'm not too keen on that.

    Lead... call me superstitious but I don't want it in my tank, certainly not anywhere near my shrimp

    Is it lead?

    Is it the same as the metal ribbon stuff that comes wrapped around new plants? Is that lead?
