Default Plant Identification. 5000 points to the winner

Does anyone have an idea what plant this is? It came in as a hitchhiker and grows on the substrate of my pond. It is lightly rooted and is easily detached from the substrate. It looks somewhat like frogbit, but does not have the same leaf texture, and its never seen floating unless uprooted.

The plant in question has the light green leaves. The other larger reddish leaf is from a spreading water lily.

Nope. It has very thin leaves and grows flat against the substrate. No stems or rhizomes.

A few questions that probably would help everyone: what is its root structure(bulb, rhizome, etc), does it have an emersed form and if yes, what does it look like? Have you ever seen flowers/ fruit? How does it spread? Being such a good photographer can you take close ups of the leaves/stems?

There is very little root structure. There are usually about 4 leaves connected to each other in a radial pattern, with a few threadlike roots attached immediately to the bottom. There is no emersed form. No flowers or fruit. It seems to spread via runners on the substrate.

I will add some more detailed photos tomorrow.

Not a crypt. There is no stem system to speak of and no advanced root system

So far it grows flat against the substrate. But I've only had it for a couple months now.
