Thread: Progress?

  1. Default Progress?

Ok, I've done 5 50% water changes (my poor arms ache) and these are my present readings. I had the Petco people double check my vision with a liquid API test

    PH 7
    Ammonia 0
    Nitrites 0
    Nitrates 5

And just to ask this, with these readings do you think my outdoor 89 gallon tank is progressing:
    Ammonia 2-3 (was 4)
    Nitrites 0
    Nitrates 20 (went up)
Ph is 7.8-8 (darn hard to distinguish)

    Thx

If the readings stay where they are it looks like your tank is cycled. Or it could be that you have just done 5 50% water changes. Test the water again in a few hours.

In the pond the ammonia is going down and the nitrates are going up.. seems like progress to me.
People say if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all... Then they wonder why am I so quiet.
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

Yep. Just as we suspected, the warmer weather is definitely helping that pond. Tank looks good as well, if you dose a bit of ammonia does it disappeaR?

Talldutchie, I think there are fish in the tank. That's why I suggested the OP wait a few hours and test again instead of dosing the tank with ammonia.

I haven't dosed it with any ammonia. Just wonderful dead shrimp still floating around in the 89 gallon.

The water changes were for my indoor aquarium, which helped LOADS!! I just have to remember, dirty goldfish...clean them more often and more thoroughly. BasicallyI think I got complacent
