Suggest a Tetra :)
I am looking for some suggestions for a 2nd tetra species in my 56G column tank. I already have Serpae which are hanging out in the mid-bottom area. I need a tetra which will shoal in the mid-upper tank level. Thing is I am totally out of ideas at this point and would like to see what others come up with. I don't want hatchets, fish must be able to handle temps of around 84*F as this tank will also be housing a pair of discus, and the fish must be colorful.20G Low-Tech|50G High-Tech Planted|50G A.crassipinnis Tank|56G Column Low-Tech Planted Goldfish Tank

How about Emperor tetras? The regular ones are aptly named and the Rainbow if you can find them, are awesome. There is also a "black emperor" but there's still a debate if its a color-morph or not.
A video of the regular one:

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have also been considering pencilfish...it is posing a challenge to find the look desired in a fish but with one which stays strictly in the upper regions of the tank.20G Low-Tech|50G High-Tech Planted|50G A.crassipinnis Tank|56G Column Low-Tech Planted Goldfish Tank

If you can find them, how about, copella meinkeni (spotted splashing tetra). If not I will suggest the hyphessobrycon amapaensis (redline tetra), or meonkhausia pittieri (diamond tetra). All three are comfortable in temperatures in the low 80's.If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

I would also reccomend the penguin. I'm going to soon put a small school of Congo tetras and penguins along with some other fish in my 55g soon.
Good luck on your fish tank!
