Thread: Live Amphipods?

  1. Default Live Amphipods?

I've got quite a few gammarus in my outdoor farm, and would like to culture them. What do you recommend to culture them?

My friend wants some for her wild-caught minnows, but doesn't want to catch them herself. I plan to farm these and possibly sell them to fellow aquarists.

Ideas? (Yes, I have a heater in the tank and am feeding them 1-2 times daily.)

Not experienced with amphipods but common sense tells me that if they are gammarus, they will prefer cool(heater not necessary) water.

Since they are aquatic, are they able to survive without an air stone (and just survive off of the oxygen in the water that gets in naturally)?
