can I reuse my bio-media bag from filter that went kaput?
My tank's filter stopped working for about 24 hours. By the time I realized it, the bio-media mesh bag (with ceramic pellets inside) was dry and very smelly. I rinsed and soaked it well in very hot water twice and it smells and looks fine. However, I don't want to add it back to the filter and risk killing my 4 goldfish. Has anyone done this before?

well seeing how it was dry, and you rinsed it in hot water, then id say you can reuse it, just be ready to recycle the tank with the goldfish in the tank. all the bb would have died either from the dry up or the hot water.KING OF THE GOLD BARBS RAWR!!!!

Agree with genocidix. You may experience a mini cycle if that was your only bio media. You might also want to soak the media in some water treated with dechlorinator before you put it back in your filter.
