Default Is manzanita okay for plecos?

I have an adult male bristle nose pleco, and I wanted to switch out the current driftwood I have with some manzanita. He spends 99% of his time on the driftwood I have now, would all of the sudden switching to a different kind of wood shock him to much, would he even eat the manzanita, he enjoys rasping on the wood I have now.

Should be fine with little to no issues. Short term you will have to deal with that white fuzz that all driftwood gets though.

From what I have found out it seems that the pleco will eat the white fuzz is this true?

Plecos and many other types of non carnivore fish will munch down on the bio film [I prefer the technical term "driftwood snot" :-P].

As mentioned it will be a non issue.

Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.
