ideas for my 90gallon planted community
Hi, I've had my tank up and running a couple years and some of my schools of fish are dwindling down in numbers. I want to try some new species. There's a fish auction coming up in a couple weeks, I want to go but mostly there are fish I've never heard of. Does anyone know of any interesting species that would work with my stock. Tank is 90 gallons, same footprint as a 75 only a few inches taller. I also have a 20 gallon wet dry filter.
2 albino bristlenose pleco 3-4"
1 rubber lip pleco 3"
7 roseline barbs 3-4"
1 red minor tetra 2"
6 bleeding heart tetras 2-3"- super boring fish that just hide out in the plants
3 neon tetra- I had 12 at one point, I wont be restocking these.
1 panda cory 2"
Fish in quarantine
5 red minor tetra 1"
8 Harlequin Rasbora 1"

With your roselines, red minors, bleeding hearts and rasboras, you already have 4 schools. have you thought of increasing the size of the red minors and rasboras schools even more instead of adding yet another type of fish? The larger schools would be stunning.
Also, give the poor little panda cory some playmates. :o) 6 would be the minimum for a cory school and I'd think you could easily do 12 in that tank. You could get 5 more pandas and 6 other type of cory for extra variety.
I'm sure others will chime in with ideas for you as well.

Larger schools would be cool. I've never had Rasboras before so well see how I like them.

Don't know much about elephant noses but 1 may be a good option. I'm pretty sure they do good with tetras and 90 gallons is a great amount of room.

I'm surprised your Bleeding hearts hide out so much, they are usually a very gregarious fish. Maybe intimitaded by the Roseline's? I don't know.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

I replied a couple times but then hit the wrong button. Thanks for the tips! I think I will like the harleys, I've had them a week or two in quarantine. No serious issues just some fin rot which has cleared up. I added a few drops of melafix a couple times in the water. The stuff works good and my basement smelled very fresh and herbal while I was using it. Maybe in another couple weeks when I add them to the main tank I will look for some more. I would like a few more roselines as well but they're a little spendy. But oh well what do you do?
