Yeah, it's been REAL quiet....what gives?....here's hoping Sandz and the rest here who live on the eastern Gulf Coast will be safe from TS Karen...they're saying it should not be too bad of a storm, maybe even not get up to hurricane status.....I'm ready to get the heck outta here (work), head home, pop a cold one or three, and look at my fishies!

Hey all, sorry so quiet here lately... my problem child (the one who I thought knocked himself silly on tank glass) decided to lay around on the bottom of the tank again after being fed last night so I've been watching him like a one eyed hawk lol. Seems he may be constipated (swimming head up/tail down) but I'll update once the issue/symptoms have been nailed down._______________________________________________

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around lately.
The new discus are doing great, my problem child is now swimming well and seems to have fully recovered from his crashing into the tank glass but in the mean time my ph in the qt tank crashed... I have to age my water due to very low (2-3 kh) with crushed coral to buffer but with the large daily water changes it could not keep up fast enough leading to the ph crash. I've since added another aging barrel so I can alternate giving the ph a chance to be buffered and added a small amount to the tank also. So now i'm regulating 3 bodies of water for the ph to be as exact as possible just for the qt tank. The big issue now is doing 2 large pwc's per day to keep the ammonia down and rebuild my BB so I've been getting up at 4:30 am to get one in before I go to work then another when I get home. All this on top of my mom getting out of the hospital yesterday and trying to help her and having to give my aging kitty subcutaneous fluids every night has just taken a big chunk out of my time and energy.
All of this and I just placed my second order with Kenny for 5 more Discus!!!!_______________________________________________
