Hey guys, I have a 29 gal that I am currently cycling. There are 5 male guppies in it right now. I have been doing about 1/3 water changes every two-three days to keep levels down and keep the fish healthy. My friend is looking to get rid of some Cherry Shrimp sooner rather than later. He wants to give them to me. His other option is selling them to our LFS, which is poorly maintained.

The frequent water changes keep Ammonia under .25 and the nitrates around 5-20. The temp is pretty consistent and there are still 0 nitrites. Tank has been running since mid-March. I treat water with Prime before adding it to the tank.
Would the Shrimp do alright in my tank? Open your fishy floodgates of knowledge. Thanks!

I would go ahead and add the shrimp. While they are sensitive, they have a very low bioload so increase your watch change schedule until you have 0 ammonia and nitrites consistantly and you should be ok.

Still a risk, they don't take nitrites well at all

Agreed here. They dont. But anything below 15 should be fine. I guess I should be asking what numbers were talking about?
