LOL...it's been a while since you tried to infect me with the MTS, HB1...yes, I will make sure the water flow stays strong, as always...I keep the AC30 flow at about 50% on the 10 gallon, the fish seem to prefer it that way

Thanks for the kind words, JJ...I need to get Lauren to make a little video of the 10 gallon to give you guys a recent viewing (she has a "smart" phone, mine is a...dumb one, I guess)

I'm SO ready to start playing with the 40 breeder...in due time...if it ever comes, dang it

I'm not sure what you are talking about.
When I go fishing I just place a sharp rock in the water and sit there waiting for all the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Hey, I forgot to tell you guys something...we took those snail egg clusters off the lid and followed the directions for incubating/hatching them from the link that Honey Badger 1 gave me, just for the heck of it...now we have a little container of tank water with a BUNCH of baby snails in it! Lauren found a Google pic of a purple (?) apple snail...now she won't let me get rid of the babies until she looks at EVERY SINGLE ONE of them to see if she can find a purple one...

I hate to just throw them out...we have a few parks around here with duck ponds...would it be irresponsible of me to introduce all these snails into the wild?...it is HOT here, mid to upper 90's F every day...

Do you think maybe a LFS would take them?

I have room in the AC30 on the 10 gallon for some more bio-max...I'd like to add a bit more since the 4 unexpected platy fry have shown up, and are growing quickly...my thinking is more bio max will mean more area for BB to grow, which should help with the larger bioload I surely have, or am going to have...does that make sense?

I can simply rinse some new bio max and add it to the old, BB infused bio max without affecting my cycled tank, correct?...even with the new fry, I still consistently show water parameters of 0, 0, and about 10, with my WWC's of about 60-70%.

Another question...since I need to buy some more bio max if I'm going to do this, I may as well buy enough to fill the 2 AC50's I plan on using on my upcoming 40 gallon breeder as well...how much should I buy, in your opinion?...something like this, a little over a pound? http://www.amazon.com/Fluval-Biomax-.../dp/B000HHSG5M

Don't necessarily have to buy from Amazon, but we are signed up and pay for "Amazon Prime", but if you guys know of a cheaper place to get it, please let me know...LFS and Petco are usually so high priced on this type of stuff..

Thanks in advance for your replies, opinions, and comments
This size box filled my AC110, so it should be just right for 2 AC50s, with some left over. It's $8.45 at www.thatpetplace.com.

Don't release them - they may not be native to your area. It can also be against the law. Not sure about your LFS - depends on what species of snail they are.

Yes it would be irresponsible to put them in the duck ponds. Invasive species can destroy a habitat. Ask your LFS if they will take them, some will give store credit for them. If they won't try craigslist.

Oops, I didn't see gronlaura's post above mine, so yeah, I agree with gronlaura.
