My honesty has been described as brutal many times, lol.
That is a pond snail and where there is one there are more, where there is three, there is probably several more. Start picking them out. It isn't the end of the world though, feed your fish sparingly and keep picking them out. They shouldn't get out of hand unless you give them plenty of food.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
A moderator on a fish forum should be able to identify an oscar... Don't you think?

See I think it looks like a ramshorn snails with that curling shell. It is still considered a pest snail to most. Even so you likely have more in the substrate.

Really?, I've always thought of it as straight forward and to the point. Just how I like to receive advice, with a touch of humor also!

I 'get" it for sure...dry and witty, just like i like it

As a side note, i mentioned earlier that Lauren, with her clear 13 year old eyesight, spotted 2 or 3 more tiny snails...with a magnifying glass, i could see that these particular snails were shaped like the snails we already have, not like this flattened pecan-twirl shaped pond snail...I wonder if they hatched out of the "clutches" we removed before we got to them

It looks like a ramshorn to me too, Lady10Godiva. From what I've seen, pond snails tend to be more oval.

I need to get Lauren to take some pics of the adult snails we already have...one is an "Inca gold" (I think), the other 2 are dark colored
