Lol, I am just guessing, I can't tell from the picture if it is a platy or a tetra. I do know that platy can have fry up to something like 6 months after being naughty only once, so it could be either. If your wife says tetra then it is probably a tetra.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.

Would the mom in question have any signs of being "with fry"?....Like I said, all the tetras look the same to me, but one platy is big and fat...haven't seen "junior" yet today...Lauren is coming home from a friend's today, she's dying to see him, but I guess he's hiding...I think the PWC yesterday flushed him out from his hiding place...

The RCS are finally showing themselves, they were in perpetual hiding for awhile...

Female live bearers start to get fat, when it is almost time for the fry to drop the fat spot will get square. If there aren't a lot of fry she may only get a bit fat. With egg layers the female gets a bit thick right before she is ready to drop the eggs.

    The two platys (female?)

Tank shot, with new water lettuce...going to let them float in the tank for a few days, then cull the ones that aren't flourishing...one of the snails is already clinging to one:

In the first picture of fatty platy, it looks like he has a gonopodium, which would make that fish a male.

Thanks gronlaura, do both of those platys resemble males?

From the illustration HB1 provided, I think they are males...

BTW, we now have TWO fry!...Lauren's b-day was yesterday, and she had a friend sleep over...they spotted them late last night....will try to get a pic of them later...they are hanging out together, in the back corner of the tank by the moss ball

I guess my bioload is gonna skyrocket now...
