    Default Unknown small spider looking thing?

    0 Not allowed!
    Recently I have noticed some small weird spider looking things that clings to plants and the tank side. This is in an 8 gallon nano cherry shrimp tank. Here is picture:

    image.jpg

    Sorry, it is blurry, but I had to zoom in. It is at the top of the picture and has some string looking things coming from the center.

    There hasn't been any difficulties except assassins eating a low amount of trumpet snails. Only thing that is a slight problem is unreachable algea parts and I have nothing that will eat algea, and not going to risk Amano shrimp eating baby cherry shrimp, breeding has been very successful. If you know an ideal pleco or anything, tell me. I have recently cut down on feeding. There are water changes. Tank picture is here:

    Thank you to everyone who helps.

    Sorry but your upper picture is really beyond recognition. Few aquarium crawlies have legs, and fewer look like insects or spiders. Could it be a form of aquatic mite?

    Maybe hydra??? Does it look like a tube stuck to the glass with tentacles at the end?
    Can't see anything in the first pic so I'm just going off your description...

    I like the tank!

    Yep, it's hydra. Probably introduced due to the trumpet snails... And my shrimp were breeding so well );

    Great, there is also planaria. I'm really starting to get tired of all these pests. First, it's regular snails, then trumpets, then these two.

    I have some hydra in my shrimp tank too... I'm not too worried aout it though... I still have a ton of babies from the first batch and I just had more "hatch" within the last few days.

    As far as the algae in hard to reach spots... that's shrimp food. They love that stuff. I just let it grow on the sides and back, but keep the front clean for viewing.

    I have snails too... hitchhikers on plants...

    I read full sized hydra can eat shrimp fry. That's no good.

    A harlequin or two temporary transferred may well help cut them down.
