  1. Default White fuzz on aquarium decoration

I have this white fuzz growing on one of my decorations. I just noticed it this morning. I don't know what it is, and a google search didn't really provide me with a definitive answer. It completely covers the top part of the decoration and part of the underside of one part. It doesn't appear to move of its own accord, so I assume it is some form of algae or possibly fungus, but none of the fish appear to have any on them.
One of my ADFs was found dead this morning. She hadn't eaten much, if anything, since I got her. It's been 18 days now. Her companion must be eating because he has grown quite a bit in the time I've had them, but she hadn't grown at all, nor was she ever very active. Could the white fuzz be the cause of her death?
The tank has been running for 2 months as of this coming Friday.
What is it and how can I get rid of it?

Fuzz like this is quite common on new driftwood in new tanks. That stuff is generally harmless and actually eaten by some shrimp and fish.
If it bothers you wipe it away.

What harmed your frog may well have been a previous problem or adjustment to the hard water.

Well, the decoration is some kind of fake rock formation. I'm not sure what materials it is made of. I'll probably take it out and clean it just to be sure the fuzz isn't hurting anything.
I think the frog may have had a bacterial infection from the pet store that never cleared up. There were no outward signs of illness other than her general lethargy and refusal to eat. Of course, I've never seen the male frog eat either, but the fact that he's grown and looks to be a healthy size means he must be eating when I'm not watching.
