just browsing some hybrid forums and other blood parrot, KK parrot, flowerhorn and other crosses and all I hear is certain food for hybrids, super color boosters. Also said that it is a softer pellet and easier on bps due to mouth foramation, are these gimmicks are good foods. Some mentioned were hai feng, alife, grand sumo and power pink, most were forign foods, I assume the hybrids are big overseas. What is your opnion, my king king is still pink but just want the best for babies,

Hobbs is the best source for you. What I know about the BP's I learned from her. I don't know anything about those foods you mentioned. I know she feeds pretty much straight pellets.

I feed mine a combo veggie/spirulina flake from yourfishstuff made for cichlids (because I have other cichlids in my tank) and slow sinking cichlid pellets by Aquean. they also get peas and freeze dried blood worms once a week. I'm very pleased with their colors all around. good luck

15 g FW planted: crown tail betta, neons, snails

If I were a BP in your 90 gallon tank, I'd be very happy and healthy with this diet.
When in doubt, do a water change.

I dont do the peas, or the aquaeon, my tropicals wont eat the aquaeon, when it hits the bottem the cories nip at it, my buddy took his tank down and gave the left over food. my fish get NLS, pellots, hikiri excel and gold. Omega one and colbalt flakes. custom bee heart flakes a local makes. then all the treats, krill shrimp tublix and then frozen blood worm cubes.. then sometimes they always seem to find the veggie rounds, shrimp pellets and carnisticks i give to cories and pleco. seems m orange parrot has colored down the past week, all params fine, I sit in the fish room a few hours a day and the gold sev bullies a little bit, like a nomral sorta agrresive cichlid but the all get to eat.

Sounds like they have a great diet.
One thing I have found/ I quit feeding all my fish omega flakes because apparently it's high in fats. My dwarf gourami and my betta always had difficulty with constipation when I fed it. As soon as I switched to the spirulina/veggie mix that problem ended. I figure it it was an issue for some fish, it was an issue for all. Something to think about.

Just be careful to not over feed. Other than that, it sounds like the everyone one is getting a varied diet. The only suggestion I have is to add a true veggie\spirulina flake to the mix. LOL...fishmommie fingers are faster than mine this morning.

Jusat noticed that you're feeding veggie rounds which is a good thing. But I'm not sure BPs can pick those up from the bottom of the tank?

I'd say since these things originated in the far east and are popular there I'd expcect manufacturer's from over there to come up with the best goodies.

http://www.hikariusa.com/products/cichlid/ is what they got and I've yet to see a hikari product that disappoints.
