Leopard Danio Regeneration?
I have a shoal of 4 zebra danios and 2 leopard danios in my tank.
One of the leopards was ' the runt ' of the bunch, and he had what looked like a dent in his spine, much like a cats tail would look if it had been slammed in a door.
This little deformity made him the slowest danio in the shoal, and after a few weeks, the quick ones had nipped his tail clean off, down to the base.
A few weeks later I noticed that his tail is regrowing! he has gotten about 2cm of it back! He's gotten his speed and boisterousness back.
I want to know as much about this phenomenon as possible.
Is regeneration a known trait of danios? Maybe just leopards? Or any other aquarium fish in particular?
Does this only apply to tails? other fins? barbells?
Any knowledge is appreciated. thank you

Most fish will regrow fins if they are given clean water and peaceful surrounding (no fin nippers). When I go fishing I just throw sharp rocks in the water and wait for the dead fish to float to the top... Kingfisher
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you are stupid and make bad decisions.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Dear naps, sorry I hated you so much when I was a child... Love me

IME, my cory cat has grown back basicaly his while tail, but has never grown back his barbells. My shoaling fish have had their fins grow back before too.
