I saw this for sale at fish gallery and thought it might be a good addition since I have zebra loaches in my recently started 55g. Is this a good price?

Decent price. Good addition I doubt. These fish, like any hypancistrus is rather territorial towards other bottom dwellers.

I would think that may not be a zebra pleco, make sure you carefully look him over before buying him

They are typically more money than that, just one example below
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

We can't even get Zebras in NZ, but stuff like Gold Nuggets, Snowball Plecs, King Tiger Plecs, etc all retail for around $199. The most expensive I've seen is a magnus plec for $320. Count yourself lucky. I'd kill for a Snowball.

It was called a "fine striped zebra pleco" and looked like the ones that cliff showed. If they have them when I return ill probably get one. I really love this pleco, hopefully they will have them when I come back.

Oh also @talldutchie as of today I finished the bottom feeder territories so bottom feeder aggression is the last thing on my mind, but ill keep watch.

yes cliff there are about 4 (i think, but i have no sources) plecos that fall under the name "zebra pleco" i found that out in all my research about a year ago.

but that seems like a decent price for a good looking fella. i wouldnt count on him being on algae duty tho. he might it some but i think they like to eat a good omnivore diet...
I wonder if i plant one of my tiger barbs would the demon seed grow to a full tree?
    gotta love them bunnies!

That's about the price they sell for. I bought a 2 incher for around that price a couple months ago.
