So other than aquarium stuff do you guys have any other hobbies?

Here are two of mine that, I think, are quite "out there"...

    Nice videos

I mostly stick to target shooting when the range is not full of people
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

I like to Knit and Quilt. I also like to bake and watch the birds outside my home and plant things with hopes to not have wild animals eat them.

...I have other pets...including my parrots and my snake. I've trained dogs (competition level for myself and puppy classes for others). Now I power walk with our 3 dogs (they really enjoy that). We did a lot horseback riding and shows when the kids were little, and we still have a herd of 'em. I didn't ride at all last year...had an ankle injury. Hopefully this year will be better...

I have a small flock of heritage and rare breed chickens (and one turkey) pets and for eggs.

Then there are the 4 tarantulas and the cockroach colony...

I play violin in our community orchestra...I also will play viola...but my opportunites aren't too great there.

I just got a bassoon! I'll likely have more opportunity to play that in a group setting down the the road when I get some expertise.

I'm also somewhat involved in the visual arts...but not too much at the moment...

    I also target shoot...

I knit and do some needlework...sporadically...

Other than that ... I read, watch some TV...and spend too much time on-line...;)

When I'm not working my rear end of I like to head out into a local nature reserve and take picture. Not sure if that qualifies as strange.

Im much like Rue, hand in every cookie jar.

I used to be a pro signed musician and still play guitar and bass in casual settings. Also play the drums, keys, anything with strings and a few winds.

I play on a semipro softball team.

    I keep dogs.

Hit the gun range every other week.

Used to spend most of my time at the zoo working with keepers and all that but since moving to Florida again I am into all kinds of gardening and diy projects.

I do production and aid some local artists in recording engeneering.

play pool/billiards and ping pong pretty regularly.

I fish regularly, used to do some stops on the west coast bassmaster tour.

Honestly if I can find something to do that is active I do it.

Reminded me of something I find totally awesome. Not watching birds, but flying with them. Any soaring raptor, vulture or any intelligent bird can be followed when paragliding. They have millions of years of evolution in their favour for finding rising air currents, so finding circling birds going up is the best way to soar.

It's amazing to be on opposite sides of a circle with a bird, going round in circles together, eye to eye. They even show mutual aviator respect, keep their distance, but aren't usually worried by the strange monkey hanging under a wing. Often they join you when you find rising air, but usually it's the other way around.
