Thread: Online fish??

Okay so I finally decided that I want the centerpiece of my 20 gallon to be a pair of Apistogramma trifasciata. I've also decided I am going to order them from http://www.wetspottropicalfish.com/ My question is, is wet spot tropical fish a good website??? Their selection is huge and from what I've seen on Aquabid their fish are healthy and vibrant. I would just like to hear from anyone who's ordered from WSTF if their fish are actually healthy. I don't have a QT set up. Well..actually I do. I set up a 10 gallon a couple months ago to be a QT but it sort of turned into its on tank and now houses a male black molly and a young polly (mollyxplaty hybrid). I'd just like to be sure I won't receive sick fish that will end up contaminating my tank.

I know several people in the fish club I belong to, have ordered from them. They have a good reputation.
Have you checked to see if anyone in your local club http://www.njas.net/ has those apistos for sale or trade? Or might be able to find someone else who is interested in ordering from wetspot, could split the shipping costs to save some money.

I haven't actually joined or checked out the local club. I was always meaning to, but I'm still in highschool, I'm only 16, so I never really have the time or means. I think this time I'm just going to go with ordering from WSTF and paying myself. I'll most likely check out my local club for the next batch of fish I need to get. Which will be a school of dwarf rasbora, and venezuelan pygmy cories.

I have not bought from them online, but last month I was down in Portland and was at their storefront. The store was clean, well maintained, and busy... within their first hour of opening they had a line going for bagging fish!
We did buy fish (10 tetras and 3 blue eye yellow spot rainbows) and successfully acclimated them and had 0 fatalities from a roughly 3 hour transport back.
-- Adding: I would buy from them again

I can't say anything bad about them. I live in central California and order all my fish from them and never had a DOA. I believe their selection is the best I have ever seen.
