Uhm, hey guys? Should I use the Fluval BioMax and Fluval PreFilter rings in my EHEIM 2217?

you can if you want to, the prefilter ones are just smaller and trap more crud than the biomax. besides that i think they do the same thing... dosent the eheims have sponges for mech filters?

I know I mentioned this in your other thread, but if you buy the canister filter new it should come with all the media you need, included the substratpro. Unless you buy it somewhere like ebay where the person has taken the media out or something.

Go with pool filter sand & also Go with pool filter sand. I have had absolutely zero issues with PFS.

Don't get the lower grade quickcrete - It's filthy and the HIGH $$ sand from the LFS is in no way an improvement over PFS.

If you were shopping on CL you could lower your budget or increase your tank size dramatically.. Just saying.
    Gas mileage isn't everything OIIIIIIIO
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part.
Why pretend there are no stupid questions? Actually, There are many stupid questions: "Should I drink this bleach?" Is just one example.
Having said that, Just because it's a stupid question doesn't mean that it shouldn't be asked. It's better to know.

A warm beer is better than a cold beer. Because nothing is better than a cold beer, and a warm beer is better than nothing.
