My blue gourami is a full-grown adult in a 55 gallon community. I have kept five guppy fry in a trap for 2 months and a half now. Is it okay to let them free? I'm scared the gourami will eat them. Please respond.

is the fry too big to fit into the gourami's mouth? if yes then the gourami will probably not attempt to eat them. however, the gourami might chase them around abit at first as they are unfamiliar fish in his territory.

I'd wait until they are at least 2-2.5 cm long. gouramis aren't adapted to biting chunks out of larger prey, rather, they will feed on whatever fits in their mouth and swallow it whole.

If its highly planted with a cave for the gourami the babies are more likely to live.
