    Default everybody loves chicken

First time in ages I've fed them chicken. Small piece of bone from a leg with which I was finished. Rinsed it off to get the grease of and dropped it in.

It's great fun to watch them circle it, dart down and snatch something. The barbs must like it a lot, they're turning very dark red again. Even the bristlenose have had a taste.

No kidding? I learn something new here on the forums about every day. I didn't know you could feed chicken. Makes some sense though as I know they love white fish or shrimp.
When in doubt, do a water change.

Well... this was a bone with very little meat left on it. And it's certainly not something to feed every day or week but yes it can be done.

Had a look this morning, seems overnight it was picked almost entirely clean, just a bit of cartilage left. The shrimps have been busy.

Wouldn't say that. Can be done, might be a good idea if your fish and shrimp like it. Just don't do it very often.

I try to vary my fish's food on occasion. Chicken is a good treat every once in a while. I've even had fish that started breeding after having it.

I fed a boiled chicken every other day to my colony of Red Bellied Piranhas 12 of them at 3 plus pounds. I would not recommend leaving a bone in for too long. Maybe 12 hours or so. The marrow goes rotten in the core and gets really stinky. Yikes.

1 chicken for 12 piranhas... well, either you got very small chickens or very stuffed fish. :)
