    Question Stocking suggestions!

Ok. I am at a crossroads. I have a 30 gallon with 5 black neon tetras, 1 bolivian ram, 1`clown pleco, and 1 emerald green cory. I want more schoolers. I will also eventually move my 4 scissortail rasboras from the ten gallon to the 30 once all the rest of the stock is in place. There is driftwood, wisteria, anubias, and crypts in the tank with nice hiding spots. I plan on getting more black neons and ottos though, but I havn't seen ottos at any lfs here for awhile. But now: what else to get? I just can't decide. Im considering pearl danios, neon tetras, aeneus cory cats, brilliant rasboras, harly rasboras, head and tail lights, otto cats, and siamese flying fox. Mostly common fish that just look good. Not really open to ordering fish because of shipping cost. Should I go with a big school of black neons and some ottos? Or a school of cories to accompany the black neons? Or 2 schools of mid shoalers? Hatchetfish? I don't know!

    Any suggestions?

I would; up your Black neons to 10 and get a school of 10 Harleys.

    A 30 gallon isn't that big.

Up the neons to 7 or 8. Get the cory some friends. Add the scissortails and up their number to 7 or 8 as well and I'd say you're stocked.

I missed that, hardly ever seen them and the few I've seen where half that size. In that case a 30g is too small.

Scizzortails need a 48 inch tank. Unless you have a bigger tank for the future, you shouldn't use these. If your using neons, get 10 cherry shrimp, they won't take up space and will eat the food the neons don't. What are your tank dimensions?

Edit: I say you either use cories and one other species or cherries and 2 other species. If you want to use a lot of fish, I say you go 30 neons, maybe half black neons and the other half regular. Make sure there is java moss if you are to use cherries. If you don't want to use an algea eater, get 10 Amano shrimp instead. They are algea eating shrimp that can breed like crazy.

Amanos breed like crazy? Hmmm I thought those were cherries, and amanos needed brackish water to breed and bred somewhat like ghost shrimp, and were hard to breed. I do like cherries though, I do have java moss. And I am just kind of stuck with the scissortails (impulse buy from a year ago), I'm not gonna up their school, and when they get too big I'll deal with them.
@steeler, the 10 black neons and ten harly's have kinda been my default for awhile. I love the combo, but I'm just brainstorming other possibilities. Can anyone vouch for the brilliant rasbora?
