Penguin tetra sick!!!
i have a 30 gal with 4 platys, 6 penguin tetras, 6 cardinal tetras, 2 ram cichlids and 4 amono shrimp. all my fish seem to be doing well except this one penguin tetra. it is motionless and mostly hangs by the top. all my other fish are fine. it is a densely planted aquriam. ph is 6.5 and the heat is 80 F. i cant see any bulling or anything like that. it has been going on for 3 or 4 days. he is looking a bit pale.

Tricky with only a vague symptom. What are ammonia and nitrite? Any recent changes? Why the high temperature?

what temp should it be at. i do water changes twice every week to ensure prime water quality. the ammonia and nitrates are at a very stable level. i just noticed the fish goes and plays with the other fish for a few minuties and they goes back to the surface.

I'd run this at 76. What are your stable levels exactly?

Sounds about right. How long has this been up and running?

Have you noticed any aggressive behavior from any of the fish towards the penguin tetra? The rams may not appreciate lowering the temperature to 76. All of the fish in your tank can tolerate temps between the mid 70's to about 83F except the rams, they prefer 79- mid 80's.
If it's called tourist season why can't I shoot them?
Brutal honesty will be shown on this screen.
I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Tolerance is a great thing to have, so is the ability to shut up.
