That is correct black skirt tetras and platy's. In the future I do plan on getting a bulldog pleco and silver hatchet fish. The sump is in a cabinet so no direct light either from sun or room lights are penetrating it. There's only two pieces of equipment in the sump, heater and pump.

I have older style cover / hood light. hoodlight.jpg Does anyone NOT recommend drilling holes on the backside of light fixture towards the top to allow heat to be released? I know there's a quite of bit of heat coming from this alone. The light housing sits on a strip of glass, so the heat just collects. I'll be very careful.
