    My choices are angelicus, zebra, or yoyo loach. If I can get hands on dwarf chain, I will get, but I doubt I can get for under $20, I can with these.

    Please answer these questions if you can, I would kill to know (;

    Which eats the least plants?
    Which is the least aggressive?
    Which does the best job eating snails?
    Which gets the largest, and which is the smallest?(getting diff answers from links)
    Which needs a larger tank, and which doesn't need the large tank?(I know they can't have a small, but I want mine to be the happiest in comparison to others.)

    All I need is the questions answered, I'm not in the mood to talk about tank size, I have went through that already.

    If anyone answers all these, It would mean ALOT to me.

    Sorry not much info on loaches here but should the loach thing not pan out,

    "Which does the best job eating snails?"

    Assassin snails do really well to reduce this problem.

    I already have assassins. Loaches finish them off about 10 times faster, I'm least worried about this questions. The others I need.

    We need to know tank size and tank mates to suggest any fish to you. If you aren't in the mood to discuss this, we can't help you.

    Not necessarily. the op is trying to compare the Loaches relative to each other, so that would not really be needed.
    All loaches are omnivorous to a certain degree, and I am not familiar with loaches so I can't help with that. The most peaceful would likely be the dwarf chain loach. Loaches generally are overrated in terms of snail eating capacity but the larger loaches such as the yoyo loach would likely be better than little ones. The biggest probably is the yoyo while smallest are dwarf chains.

    Since Loller is planning on purchasing these loaches, tank size is important. After looking through his posts, I can't recommend any of the loaches for his 6gallon or 8gallon tanks.

    Nope! Loaches are interesting, highly social fish, that deserve a tank designed around them.

    Snails, trap them and don't feed so much and they soon cease to be a problem.

    @mo: 55. I should of gotten it over with when I posted the thread, but I just wanted to talk loaches. I guess we can talk about the tank also then. Read in my reply to Madagascar for dimensions.

    @madagascar, that's exactly want I was trying to say, thanks xD I would prefer to talk loaches, not tanks. I wasn't putting dwarf chains in the comparison, but it's my fault for wording it wrong. I'm pretty sure zebras get to 4, angelicus 5, and yo-yo loach 6. Dont know if I'm correct, but I think I am. I just called the fish gallery, which is a 2 hour ride away, and they should be getting zebras in 2 weeks, and they cost $13, I beleive. After looking the most strict source I could find, it said zebras like 120" by 30" cm. The rest of the links just say 30 gallons. What I'm going to get is 144" by 39" cm, so I think zebras could rest comfortable. The other 2 would still be happy, but the zebra would probably like it the most. It also says that zebras are nice to most fish above 2" so that's good news also. These may be the perfect loach, I hope.

    @steeler: Never seen one, sorry, these are the only three available options I have(which are pretty good options.)

    I won't be able to post here for a week after this, going on a huge spring break vacation, ill reply once I get back. Thanks if you help!

    Oops, talldutchie, I posted my reply a little late. And snails not being a problem? Maybe not in fish tanks, but with shrimp its a pain in the... There was a new species of snail recently introduced that not even the assassins eat... I even saw some bug thing in the tank this morning and this may be the reason to lack of baby shrimp! I may just catch all shrimp and fish, kill everything, clean it, then redo it. I'm tired of unwanted add-ons );

    But let's stay on track and talk about loaches.
