    Default Heater Query?

    0 Not allowed!
Im using an Elite Heater in my tank and,

one of the forums said my temp of 29 was too high for my fish and suggested i lower the tempature which i did,

I put it down to 22c which shows on the heater but the tempature has not really dropped its still at 28.5

    any clues ????

If the surrounding temperature (your house temp) is higher then the temperature you want your tank to be, it wont happen unless you introduce a chiller.

Whats the house temperature? If it's around 22 degrees C the tank will eventually come down to that but it takes awhile which is good for the fish since temp drop or rise may start an ick outbreak. Not what you want.
Warning; Bulldog Pleco guarding my Sons tank now..

Please remember; every keystroke has a consequence.

Depending on tank size it may take from a frw hours to a few days for the temperature to drop. Heaters also are often quite I accurately calibrated. For instance a heater's real heat setting might be 6 degrees warmer than its displayed setting. It takes a while to figure out.

    +1 to both.

I have a 45gallon, and I tested how long it would take for the temp to drop.
took 10hours to go down 4 degrees.
