    Tiger barbs look exceptionally good in a species-only tank. I'd be less keen on keeping them in a community, like you said.

    Your stocking sounds nice. I keep cherry barbs and they are wonderful. Very peaceful for barbs, and the colour of both the males and the females is really attractive. You could add 5 or 6 at a time (adding to the stock on a weekly basis) and check water parameters daily in case of any spikes. Be sure to add the cory catfish last as bottome-dwellers suffer most in fluctuating tank parameters.
