is there any way to treat popeye besides uping the water changes

First off, popeye most often occurs because of very bad water conditions; not only do you need better water conditions by increasing your water changes (and by the way, what volume and how often do you change the tank’s water; also, what are your nitrate levels?) but you need to be sure your filter is working well (when was it last cleaned? Is ammonia levels zero?)

Anti-biotitic will cure the popeye but poor water conditions will just cause it to return. Before treating, clean the tank well (make sure all charcoal is removed from the filters), do a large water change, check the filter, add extra air if possible, raise the temp a few degrees and add the treatment. Don't over feed and vacuum the tank every day (late to get all rotting food out) during the treatment!

i do two partial w/c a week one 0f 30 and the other of 50 %. no3 0, no2 0, no4 0, gh <3,kh 6,ph 6.8.\
my feeding alternates between 5 flakes for my fish once one day 8 the next and one pleco tab with spirulina once a day at lights out, fish i have left is one angel one pleco and eight black skirts. running two resun filters one with sponge one with ceramic rings upgraded from sponge, gravel recently boiled as well to get rid of any possible disease old temp 26 deg centigrade now sitting at 29

Since substarte is now clean and the water parameters look good, do the treatment and the fish could recover.

I would treat in a QT tank. No need to medicate entire tank for popeye, although I agree with upping the water changes in the main tank.

Methylene blue in the QT with epsom salt (1 tsp/5 gallons) with heater, sponge filter, and airstone. Change water 50% in AM and 50% in the PM, replacing the MB and epsom you took out. If there is no improvement in 2 days, then you can medicate with Kanamycin with the meth blue. Still need to change the water 100% a day since there is no biofiltration and redose drugs.

my qt tanks heater does not work at the moment so im doing it in my main tank for twos reasons 1 take care of the disease and also preventative mesaures for the other fish that share the tank

Since this is only affecting one eye (?) it could also be that he got something in it. An injury from another fish or a piece of plant or something. One of my angels once got a huge bubble over his eye that just went away on it's own after a couple of weeks.

It can be from an impact, the result of a bruise that gets infected. Recovery usually depends upon how inflamed the eye has become or swollen. Swelling causes pressures which damage the eye, this makes it prone to bacterial infections. Last time I had a fish with a bruised eye I added mela fix to the water to provide antibacterial relief. This covered both the G positive and negative and was fast acting. I used about a 25% to 50% dosage. I did the WC's as suggested. This fish had an impact bruise from spawning activity. Swelling reduced within a day or so and the eye recovered nicely. If the eye ruptures it will most likely be permanently damaged, care should be taken to prevent bacterial infections in a fish with a ruptured eye. Keep others from pestering eye. If the eye is damaged the fish will be OK health wise, it will just be limited in vision. It may posture itself differently in the water to see better.

it is possible, that stripes(angel) bruised it while i was at work. Since i done a 80 % w/c he/she has recovered a quite a bit, using methylane blue and salt combo to be on the safe side, this is the first time i've run into this in my whole time fishkeeping. I have had ich a few times and lost fish do to rookie mistakes
