    For now, I would suggest to stop adding ammonia to your tank as you have some shrimp in there, and I would suggest removing the shrimp and completing a fishless cycle.

    That is a lot quicker than trying to cycle with fish, even more so if you can get some seeded filter media to help with the cycle

    It's always better to get the basics nailed down first before moving on to stocking the tank.

    I would have loved to cycle it completely fish-less but i don't have another tank for the shrimp and i had to take them or else they would have been disposed off. I am ok with the tank taking a while to cycle the fish i am getting wont be ready until the end of April.

    I have also been doing daily water tests and water changes to make sure everything is safe for them.
