Supposed to get up to 18C (65F) today. I'm going to break out the shorts and BBQ supper today and watch the rest of the snow melt in the back yard

Supposed to be having a warm front moving through and the lake is now open and the ducks have returned. But 3 mornings ago, it was snowing like heck so don't know as it's over yet! Only a few snowbanks linger.

Before you know it winter will be drawing in again. Our brief warm spell in the UK has become rather cold again.

Anyone who knows one will know that us Brits are obsessed with the weather (and moaning about it). It's the cold and damp that must be set in our genes.

Canadians can complain too much about the weather up here as well. Even tho we do have four different seansons each year: Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and 3 months of tough sledding

I think I'd be depressed living in permanent coldness. Here it seems that we don't have proper seasons...it's cold and wet, bitterly cold and wet, chilly and wet, and occasionally we have "sunshine with showers" - a weatherman's favourite.

I have a few Australian colleagues at work who said they didn't understand our obsession with the weather...until they moved here. Now they are obsessed as we are! Successfully converted.

Around here it's more like Almost Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Road Construction

...yesterday was warm! Finally! We went to a movie last night...despite the snow still on the streets in downtown Small City...people were out in shorts and flip-flops.

    We're so optimistic!

...more snow...but it melted as it touched the ground in our yard. However, up further north there were drifts over the highway.

    But the flooding is started.

Drove by another car in the ditch...slid through the mud...

I'm glad I don't live in Yorkton SK as they currently have a heavy snowfall warning. They are supposed to get 8 to 10 inches of snow tonight

I remember one year when a freak storm dumped a foot of snow on the Prairies.

    In July.
