Should I? :)
Was just thinking about it... and if I do the following I could have only fish from South America
Get rid of:
Zebra Danios
Cherry Barbs
Platies
Add:
25 Cardinal Tetras
I'd keep the dwarf gourami for my gf, but he would be the only fish not from SA, the plants are from all around... so changing those is out of the possibilities for a long time lol
But what do you think...? Or should I just leave it? And is that a good amount of cardinals, its the same # of fish as I would be taking out... or close to it55g: DG, 5 GBR, 10 Zebra Danio, 6 Cherry Barb, 5 Oto, 6 Sterbai, 9 Platies, RCS

Think adding the Cardinals will add a lot of color compared the the Danios, barbs, and platies. Will look more like what I see in the South American waterways when I think about it

I think you'd love a south american tank. You could have cardinals with dwarf cichlids and I think they'd also be safe with a small family of blood parrots (say 3) because their mouths are so small they couldn't eat them. Angels would be iffy as they might see them as food when they get larger but if they grow up together, it could work. Mandyk has neons with her angels and it seems to be working so far.

You could even up the Cardinals to 30 and be safe. I like your idea.

30 cardinals would look great maybe decrease the number of rams and increase your corie numbers?
20 gallon tall: moderately planted with 11 blood fin tetra
10 gallon QT: empty

Just brought the rams in last night, the grown is fairly crowded so more cories are out for now (but I have a friend trying to raise fry and I may play halfway house once they get bigger)
Just called my LFS and they said they could take my current stock on trade and can get me a decent price on the cardinals
liveaquaria.com has the cardinals @ $1.19 ea for that many, so even if the store is at like $1.50 I'd be happy.
Now how would I QT that many cardinals lol. I have a 10 gallon tank... maybe have the fish store QT if they are willing to?55g: DG, 5 GBR, 10 Zebra Danio, 6 Cherry Barb, 5 Oto, 6 Sterbai, 9 Platies, RCS

only thing that worries me, is some youtube clips of schools of cardinals show them just schooling at the bottom... anyone have experience with these in a larger school? I'm hoping for a middle to top range school

Mine have always been a mid-level schooler. I don't have a video of my own but check this out; http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aqua...d.php?t=110352
This shows typical Cardinal schooling behavior pretty well.Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
