Well, we all have to get lucky sometime :o)
Do get that API liquid test kit. I'd be for testing the water daily for at least a week or more to make sure your at 0/0/5 - 20 ongoing.
And at this point, were I you, I'd start a thread in one of the african cichlid sections to ask your stocking questions. Those who keep them will have answers for you.
