Thread: My present.

  1. Default My present.

I just wanted to show off my present my wonderful husband got for me today.

My new Heritage Rough Rider 22LR/22Mag Revolver. :) :) :) My first gun to ever call my own! I absolutely love it. I need to practice with it though. I'm not great with open sites.
    130g: 7 Angelfish, 1 Bolivian, 17 Neon Tetras, 14 Serpae Tetras, 9 Kuhli Loaches, 1 Otocinslus, ? Ghost Shrimp
I've noticed that people HATE it when you point out how stupid they are, so now I try to do it politely.

Always makes me smile, the vast difference between your culture and mine.

Looks good. A single action like that is an excellent way to work on your technique and 22 is cheap enough that you can probably put in a lot of exercise.

Who knows, in 2 years time a Ruger Blackhawk?

I have the same style of gun, It is a H&R model 950 and being a 22 you can shoot all day for very little cost, Congrats, you have a great gun to learn with...

In this country gun ownership is subject to very strict laws. Out of a population of 16.5 million only about 50000 are into shooting as a sport. There's 28000 hunting licenses so let's say about 70000 in total.

I used to shoot handguns in the 1990s, even taught a basic pistol course to new members. Our club owned an old ruger single-six in .22. Fun little gun to shoot. I found that with a bit of effort a 3/4 inch group at 15 yards was very doable and quite a few times I managed a 1 inch at 25 yards. It is a good way to get used to revolver target shooting and prepare for the bigger guns.

Nice, I am currently starting the 18 month process of applying for my pistol permit in NY, my father has already bought me a S&W 40 caliber.

@talldutchie - I thought NY was tough on guns geez... lol, I know peoples opinions on them can be divided so I won't go into politics, but I personally enjoy owning firearms and have 3 at the moments (two 12 gauge shotguns and a Ruger 10-22)

Let's avoid politics indeed. I think we can agree on the fact that with gun use safe and responsible conduct should be the main priority. First lesson in my course was always safe gun handling and how to behave on the range.

I've owned a CZ-99. Fun 9mm. Shot my personal best at bowling pin with that (8 yards, 6 pins, 2.73 seconds) and a norinco m1911a1 with which I ended up in the top 50 in the national target championships one year (outshot 2 guys with very expensive Sig p-210). That one had one strange quirk. After a good clean it would always fail to eject the 2nd round of the first clip. Nicest handguns I've ever shot... hmmm.. a Ruger blackhawk in .44 and a Glock in 10mm.

Nice Revolver Mandy. Looks like you'll be having many hours of fun target shooting to look forward to. Congrats

Let's all aviod bringing political topics into this thread
If you take your time to do the research FIRST, you can successfully set-up and keep ANY type of aquarium with ease.

Of course Cliff. I think we're just concentrating on how much fun shooting can be.

Just don't aim anywhere near the tanks ;)
