Gar's in 55?
Are there any gar that would fit in a 55 gallon? if so, are there any online breeders?

Not really, the smallest gar still reaches a possible 2ft in length. A 55 gallon would not give one adequate swimming room. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/predatory/gars.php

I think my fish is adjusting well to the four gallon, He's laying on his side attempting to go to sleep on the bottom of the gravel.
Smaug, you're here a lot just to say it's a waste of your time, poor baby, I bet you don't even know how big a loser you are, and how much we laugh at you and your foolish attempt to give your life meaning. Quit drinking, get a life, go take care of your family, grow up!

Not really again, the smallest, the grass pickerel, still can reach 10 inches and sometimes bigger. I know from your other thread you want to stock your tank with native fish, but as mentioned in your other thread, you will have to find fish that stay much smaller. Are you willing to tell us what state you are in, maybe someone can make suggestions that would work in your tank?

There are several neat fish from the Tennessee area, http://www.tfhmagazine.com/details/a...ll-article.htm Here is a list of several native species, you will have to research how big each one gets and its environmental needs and whether or not the species needs a group or can be a single specimen, but it seems like a good place to start. http://www.nanfa.org/convention/98tnaquarium.shtml

No, I think it would be better to buy the fish from an online breeder so that they are more likly to be pellet trained and there is less of a risk of parasites.

It may be a bit hard to find, but it has the long snouted snaggle toothed look and predatory habits you might be looking for, and it even fits in your tank. The fish I am talking about? Belonesox belizanus. Not quite a gar, but close...
