Baby Shrimp! [Photos]

After a mystery period of shrimp losses I've upped my water changes to three times a week (40-50% water changes) and removed a mass of thick moss which may have been harbouring nasties. The result...may be a conincidence but today I've noticed babies! Here's some snaps.

The bottom-right of the frame has a freshwater limpet. They are absolutely tiny!

Looking good. Hard to tell, but I think it's at least 10 days old, probably older. Can be real hard to spot the baby shrimp, they are real clear and about half that size when released from the mother. I bet there are a lot more in the tank you haven't seen yet.

Oh blimey, ok. That's odd as I can't find the shrimp that had eggs about 3-4 days ago. I assumed it was from that one. If they are ten days old then I may well have thrown a load of them out last weekend as I had to pull out the moss "tree" I had as it was harbouring muck and filth that I think was poisoning the water (despite a weekly water change routine).

Here's a full tank shot (minus the moss from the "tree" now). I've not yet decided what I'll do with this tank, I might do a rescape and change things.

I could be wrong, kind of hard tell sizes without some known size in the picture. I'm liking the layout of the tank. Maybe give the plants a chance to grow in a bit more.

Cheers. The babies are about 1.5mm long. Does that help?

Here's how it was before it went a bit wrong...I might re-do the canopy...but I might do something completely different with a new piece of wood.

I really like that, man. Makes me want a rimless desk tank. Do you have a link to that tank? I see the Nano Cube sticker, but not sure of the brand, etc...

The brand is Dennerle. I think talldutchie recommended the brand to me as an affordable package option for a nano tank - was a good recommendation. It's German. Not sure if it's available in the US. My only criticism is that the bracket for the light is plastic and didn't last long before it broke. Otherwise, it's a solid purchase.
